field assistant


Reid Lasley serves as the field assistant and is currently in his ninth year with the Marching Illini. Reid is a doctoral candidate, ABD, in trombone performance and literature. Before attending the University of Illinois for his masters and doctoral degrees, Reid completed degrees in molecular biology and trombone performance from the University of Colorado in Boulder.  Reid is the current bass trombonist for the Champaign Urbana Symphony Orchestra and has performed in the Aspen Music Festival, Colorado College Music Festival and Festival Mozaic, in San Luis Obispo, California. His primary teachers through the years include Bill Stanley, John Rojak, Gerry Pagano and Gene Pokorny.

Reid also works in the Grainger College of Engineering for the Materials Science and Engineering department in alumni relations and engagement. He is an avid golfer, outdoorsman, and diehard Illini sports fan!
